Full Description: A fine well managed wood, mostly of 40-50 year old Scots pine, but with some Douglas fir, chestnut coppice and birch, particularly on the west side of the wood. As well as the stoned track leading to Keg Wood, there is a useful un-stoned track into the centre, with a small clearing alongside it. The wood gently slopes down to the north, which helps it to be a well drained wood. The Scots pine are in particularly good condition, and frequently provide great colouring from sunlight on the bark, as well as cool shade in the warmth of summer. They could well be left to mature as they stand. But a new owner might wish to introduce more variety. This could be done by felling only an acre or two and planting hardwoods, or increasing the size of the clearing to allow for natural regeneration. In any case, this is a quiet and peaceful wood greatly enhanced by the grandeur of the Scots pine.
This is part of Brewers Wood, considered to be Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland, and lies in the High Weald AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
The owner of Keg Wood will have vehicle rights of way along the tracks on the map marked in green.
The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
